TOP-5 Cars We Expect in 2023

Despite several significant quarantine restrictions that prevented presentations, many automakers nevertheless presented to the public new car models that will go on sale in 2022-2023. We offer a closer look at the new items in the first live photos and determine their technical characteristics. Automakers always communicate specific information about their upcoming new products in advance. Someone only teases the appearance of a new generation car or a completely new model in the company's lineup. Others reveal almost all the cards, up to the available trim levels and engine options.

Interest in new products is always high, especially among those who have already collected enough money to buy a new car but are afraid to hurry up, taking a car that will turn out to be worse than the updated version. And it only takes a few months to wait.

Therefore, we present a list of the most anticipated cars and divide them into several categories.

Top 5 new products :

Kia EV6

Kia's new electric car will embody the philosophy of Opposites United, which means "a combination of opposites." The car's design, which will be available in 2022 and 2023, was attended by three Kia studios, whose offices are located in South Korea, Germany, and the United States.

It is expected that by 2023, 5 modifications of the new car from Kia will be released to the market:

  • Standard Range (1 engine) - 170 hp and 400 km of the autonomous run;
  • Standard Range (all-wheel drive, 2 motors) - 235 hp and 380 km;
  • Long Range (1 engine) - 228 hp and 490 km;
  • Long Range (all-wheel drive, 2 engines) - 325 hp and 510 km; GT-Line (all-wheel drive, 2 motors) - 585 hp and 400 km.

Skoda Superb

An all-new 4th generation Skoda Superb sedan is expected to arrive in 2023, and the first images of the new model are already online.

As can be seen from the render, Skoda does not plan to radically change the appearance of the popular sedan, although the novelty will receive several functional changes, including:

  • new matrix headlights;
  • improved foglight modules;
  • new entertainment system.

The design will complement the Skoda inscription on the trunk lid and many chrome elements. Along with traditional petrol models, the company is expected to introduce the first Superb PHEV plug-in hybrid, based on the technology already used on other models of the Volkswagen Group.

BMW X8

Another novelty of the BMW brand in 2022-2023 will be the full-size X8 SUV, which harmoniously combines the chassis from the X7 model and an even more spectacular premium design.

The car will receive a dynamic, sporty design, a new spectacular body shade, and some technical improvements, which will be discussed in more detail after the official premiere. An impressive 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 should provide the sporty dynamics of the new X8 with 616 hp.

Mazda CX-50

By 2023, Mazda plans to replace the popular CX-5 crossover with an updated version, which not only received many significant improvements but will also change its name to CX-50.

The engine range of the novelty will include gasoline and diesel power units:

  • gasoline 2.5 liters - 190 hp;
  • diesel 2.2 liters - 190 hp;
  • turbo gasoline 2.5 liters - 230 hp;
  • diesel 3.3 liters - 185 hp;
  • gasoline 3.0 liters - 185 hp.

At the same time, some gasoline engines will be converted to mild hybrids by integrating a 48-volt starter generator into the system.

Mercedes-Benz GLC

Mercedes-Benz has announced a whole series of bright new products and spectacular restyling. One of the most anticipated novelties of the auto world from Mercedes in 2022-2023 will be the GLC coupe crossover, photos that have already appeared on the Internet.

The new generation GLC will be based on the modular MRA platform with rear architecture. Although there is no reliable information and power units of the 2022-2023 model line, experts believe that hybrid installations will expand the basic range of engines. Whether diesel engines are losing popularity in Europe today will also be discovered.

In 2023, several dozen new cars should appear on the world market. Of course, there will be crossovers with SUVs—the most anticipated SUV models of 2023.

BMW X2

First place on the list went to the new generation BMW X2. The German manufacturer has already brought its prototypes to the test, which, even in camouflage, are noticeably different from the current generation, one of the most economical crossovers on the Russian market. Based on spy shots, the "second" X2 will get a cross-coupe body shape, and the front will be similar to the new X1. The technical equipment of the crossover can only be guessed at.

Ford Kuga

The compact American crossover Ford Kuga should be updated next year. Ford introduced the 2023 model year car in the US back in October; the model known as the Ford Escape is only in the American home market. This time, the update affected not only the appearance of the crossover but also its technical part - however, the line of power units remained the same.

Honda ZR-V

In 2023, the new crossover Honda ZR-V, which has already debuted in Japan and China, should appear on the global market. It will sit between the CR-V and HR-V and will only be available with a hybrid powertrain. In the Japanese market, the model is offered in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Interestingly, outwardly this crossover is the twin brother of the Honda HR-V.

Mercedes EQ SUV

At the beginning of next year, a new electric crossover from Mercedes-Benz should go on sale, which will be able to compete with the BMW iX. It shares many similarities with the Mercedes EQE sedan and boasts an impressive range of 342 miles (550 km). By the way, in October, the Mercedes EQE SUV received a charged AMG version.
